Windshield modification on a Dakar

When testing various helmets on my Dakar, I found out, that almost every helmet is noisy behind the Dakar windshield. I now tested a slight modification. When losening the 3 bolts on the windshield, you'll find a bracket behind the shield. Between the shield and the bracket I placed some washers, appr. 5 mm thick, and remounted the shield. I gained a remarkably lower noise level on my Schuberth Concept now. I'll make some tests with different washer thicknesses ...

Ok, I can't guarantee you, that you will gain the same effects. This depends on too many things, of which the most important are your height (I'm standing 1.89 m), and the helmet you are using. However, to give it a try, is a matter of 30 minutes: 5 minutes to modify, 20 minutes to testride, and 5 minutes to rebuild if not working ... ;-) Pics will come later ...
